About 2 years ago, I started to create a “Head to Toe Bridal Beauty Prep Guide” with a 1 year beauty timeline. It was something that I had thought about doing for so long, but I knew how much work would go into it! It’s a project that kept getting pushed aside and now that weddings are starting to pick back up, I decided to FINALLY finish it. You know what, it feels really good too, like a HUGE accomplishment. I gathered up all of the questions that I have been asked by my brides over the years, and even consulted with a few of my colleagues to ensure I had the perfect timelines.
Your wedding day will arguably be the most heavily photographed day of your entire life. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes prep that goes into making sure you look your best. Just like your place settings and wedding favors, the key to your beauty routine before your wedding is planning; for your sanity, from head to toe!

Here at “All Things Beauty” I am dedicated to providing you with resources that will make your wedding beauty preparation run as smoothly as possible. I have plenty of advice to ensure that the journey to your special day is as exciting and enjoyable as the day you got engaged.
In this guide, I start from the very beginning with a wedding beauty checklist. You’ll learn when to book all your beauty appointments and discover beauty advice that will get you prepped from head to toe.
There’s even a little something for the bridesmaids…and don’t forget about the moms! They also may need some of the advice in this guide. Honestly, share this with anyone involved in your wedding. The more that you can do together, the more everyone will feel included and less stressed for your big day!
I hope you find this guide helpful. I even included some of my “must have” products for all of my brides. You can click on any product you’d like to learn more about and it will take you right to my website.
You will look and feel flawless throughout the festivities with all of the advice and products I have to offer. With over 25 years of experience, I pride myself in being your beauty expert for this important time in your life!

Here’s a sneak peek at what you will bet in the Head to Toe Bridal Beauty Prep Guide:
1 Year Before Your Wedding
Schedule Hair & Makeup Appointments
I recommend that you reserve your hair and makeup sessions about a year in advance, especially if you are getting married during popular months. Even if you don’t have a finalized list of everyone’s services, you can complete your contract and pay a retainer to reserve your date. I also recommend that your trial appointments be booked at least 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding.

Schedule Manicure Appointments
As soon as you get engaged, everyone is going to ask to see your ring. Keep those nails and hands primed and pretty with regular manis. This will keep your cuticles in great shape and is also your chance to experiment with colors.
Special splurge: Gel manicures use UV technology for a harder and smoother finished nail. They’re a bit pricier but can last up to twice as long as a traditional manicure.
5-6 Months Before Your Wedding

Start Growing Your Hair
Now is the time to start pinning some potential hairstyles on Pinterest. You may need to start growing your hair out for your big day. I also recommend that you try any new color combinations that you like.
Consult With a Skincare Specialist
Do you have a good, professional skincare regimen? It is important that you take care of your skin. The attention you give it now will show in your forever pictures. I can recommend a good 3 step system for your skin type so you can have a customized routine.
Start Exfoliating
If you aren’t exfoliating as part of your current skincare routine, exfoliate at least once a week. This will help remove dead skin cells and increase new cell regeneration and smoother skin.

Start Taking Vitamins
Choosing the right vitamins will help keep your hair growing, will strengthen your nails and keep your skin and overall body healthy.
Must Have: Isotonix OPC-3 Beauty Blend is a revolutionary product that helps to improve and maintain the appearance of healthy, beautiful skin from the inside out. The Isotonix delivery system, as found in Isotonix OPC-3 Beauty Blend, assures that the body will absorb the daily vitamins and minerals that it needs.
Choose Healthy
Cut down on junk food, caffeine and sugar. It’ll make a big difference in your body overall.
Grow Out Your Brows
Start growing out your eye brows so you can start growing in the perfect shape. In a few weeks plan on getting them professionally shaped.

2 Months Before Your Wedding

Get Your Hair in Tip Top Shape
Lay off the heat styling to give your hair a break. I also recommend deep conditioning at least once per week.
Lashes
Lengthy lashes can take your beauty look to the next level — not to mention they make your eyes look bigger and brighter (a must for wedding photos). Start using a lash serum to increase your length and volume.
Thinking about a lash lift or extensions? Consider a trial appointment to make sure you don’t have any reactions to the glue or chemicals, and to ensure you like them!
Must Have: Face it – the eyes have it, and long lashes make women and men take notice. Motives® Lash Extend serum is a serum that can help increase the look of volume in your lashes. This advanced formula contains a proprietary blend of SymPeptides™ that help enhance the look, volume, and beauty of lashes and brows. Motives® Lash Extend nourishes and fortifies each strand for healthier, thicker-looking lashes and brows.

Skin
See your skin specialist for a facial. Start using an at home 2 step chemical exfoliator and moisturize intense sheet masks.
Keep an eye on your water intake. You should be drinking at least eight 8-ounce glasses a day.
Must Have: Timeless Prescription Advanced Hydroxy Face Peel and Neutralizer is a two-step process that removes dead skin cells, and provides an antioxidant defense that leaves skin looking smoother, younger and healthier. The peel combines powerful alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids with vitamins A, C and E, and herbal extracts to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Green tea extract and chamomile soothe the skin after the peelin the antioxidant-packed neutralizer.

The procedure aims to remove fine wrinkles and deep acne scarring, as well as make the skin’s surface look smooth. Your first treatment should be 1 month before and your last one, the week of your wedding.
.Must Have: Incredible skin demands an incredible masque. Lumière de Vie Moisture Intense Facial Masque is the definitive treatment that is formulated with aloe to intensely moisturize while reducing oxidative damage from the everyday elements. Utilizing the powerful hydrating effects of hyaluronic acid, this specialized facial masque instantly revitalizes dry, aged skin on contact.

2 Weeks Before Your Wedding
Hair Color
Get your final hair color/touch up and trim and it’ll be perfect for your big day.
Wax Down Under
If you have had a bikini wax before, two days before your big day is ideal. If you haven’t waxed before, I recommend that you schedule an appointment about ten days before your wedding date. Schedule a touch up two days prior to your wedding.
Spray Tan
If you are thinking about getting a spray tan for your wedding day, schedule a test tan.

Manage Stress
The next 2 weeks will be a bit hectic and stressful, so take a moment each morning to mediate while taking deep breaths.
Must Have: When you need a sense of calm focus, help ward off worries and tension with Bliss® Anti-Stress Formula. It contains a special blend of ingredients with adaptogenic qualities that help manage stress’ negative effects so you can get through the day cool and collected. This formula not only works to relax and balance the body and mind, it does so without promoting drowsiness.
Remember: Avoid too much salt, gluten and alcohol. They can all cause bloating.
The Last Week Before Your Wedding

Stop
Stop using any exfoliating products such as retinol, salicylic acid, or any facial scrubs to minimize redness, sensitivity, or peeling that may be present. Discontinue teeth whitening products to avoid sensitivity.
Wear Sunscreen
Make sure you wear sunscreen daily to prevent an unwanted sunburn. Don’t forget your décolletage!
Must Have: Screen out rays that rapidly increase the signs of aging, lock in moisture, and maintain elasticity and firmness by keeping the skin properly protected and equipped for the environmental effects that are around us every day. Cellular Laboratories De-Aging Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ absorbs quickly and dries without residue, making it ideal for daily use.
Pamper
Go and get a massage. You’ll need it!
