30 Faces in 30 Days-Conclusion

30 Faces in 30 Days-Conclusion

This is a well needed update!  Some of you may have been following me, but if you haven’t been, I was challenged during the month of November to meet with 30 woman in 30 days.

Since selling my salon last year, I really was missing the one to one interaction with clients, and I’m always up for a challenge, so I took it!  So did I make it?  Read on and find out 🙂

At first I was nervous about finding the time, and faces too.  But, as soon as I announced the challenge on Facebook, I had a wonderful response!  So many woman started to reach out to me because so many had questions.  Some of them had never learned how to wear makeup.  Some weren’t sure what colors they should choose.  Most just wanted a private lesson to learn a few tricks & tips.

When I met with these beautiful woman, I let them ask me anything they wanted.  I took as much time with them that was necessary and I really had a blast!

Each day I shared their picture on Facebook so that everyone could see the transformations.  Most of the posts shared a before and after picture.  I chose to do this, because most of these transformations weren’t major, in fact most woman wanted to have a natural look, but wanted to know how to enhance their features.  These were real life woman, no photo shop, just real everyday looks.

Something interesting that I noticed almost immediately, is on almost every post, their friends would comment about how they looked amazing and beautiful without makeup.  I even had people message me about how woman don’t need makeup.  I totally agree!

We are all beautiful without makeup.  No one needs to wear makeup.  But this challenge put so many in my chair that just wanted options.  It was fun for them, it was fun for me.  I thought it was so sweet of so many that would comment, because they wanted them to feel beautiful no matter what!  I love that!

I had an update about half way through, so If you haven’t read it yet, you can find it here.  Here are the rest of the beautiful woman that I met with:

I know you’re wondering…did I make it?  Drum roll please…

I ended up with 33 faces!  Challenge met with a few to spare!!

Now that I have been away from my salon and my clients for a year, I have realized that one of the things that I miss the most, is the way that I was able to make my clients feel.

It was my role to find out what it was that I could do to make them feel special, beautiful, fresh, younger or even sometimes older.  I would make hair look thicker, thinner, lighter, or darker.  I would give some precious moments of relaxation and peace.  I would listen to the things that they had going on in their life, and they would feel better just to have someone to share it with, good or bad.

Beauty professionals  are some of the most caring individuals that I have been around.  We are creative artists who thrive on making others FEEL beautiful, because it is one of the most rewarding things when we see their smile.  So thank you to those that participated in my challenge. It felt great to be back in the saddle again!  I hope you all enjoyed it just as much. 🙂
