Eyebrows Can Change Your Entire Face
No matter what your approach to makeup is (no makeup, minimal or heavy), nothing beats beautifully shaped eyebrows. It frames the face and has this way of opening it up. The key thing to bear in mind is that you must always work with what you have i.e work with your natural shape; in other words aim to shape what you have, not “shave” what you have.
There are three parts to a well-shaped eyebrow: the beginning, the arch and the tail. The general rule of thumb is that the “beginning” of the eyebrow can be determined by placing a pen by the outermost corner of your nose and have it point upwards to the innermost corner of your eye. Next is “the arch”. With the pen still resting against your nose, move it till it extends just outside your pupil; that’s where the arch should be. Finally “the tail” is determined by moving the pen (still resting against the nose) to the outermost corner of your eye. That’s also where the eyebrow ends.
Sometimes, your brows don’t grow where they should, so you may need to fill them in. Now this can look natural, it shouldn’t look like you “drew” them on! There are many different things that you can use to achieve the right look.
Know your shade you don’t want to make them to dark, that can look very creepy. Generally speaking you want to go about a shade darker than they are naturally. If your brows are close to invisible choose a color close to your natural base tone of your hair color.
When applying brow color your want to use a good pencil or powder. No one should ever look permanently surprised so take note in what you are doing up there. Starting at the arch (because it is the darkest part of your brow) and move toward the outside, then going into the inside to finish. Blend it out this is a huge step it should never actually look like a line. Brushing them up at the end will give them a thicker appearance too. Don’t be surprised if you have to trim your brows too. They can grow too long and look unruly. Brush your brows up and use a small scissors to shape them.
Here are some of my favorite products to use to achieve perfect brows:
The Motives Essential Brow Kit is perfect for anyone. It has 1 wax and 2 different shades of powder that is softer for more natural looking brows. You can even mix the 2 colors together to make the perfect color. Apply the smooth powder for striking color and follow with wax for brow-sculpting control with enhanced shine
Apply the shade to fill in any sparse spots. The brush that comes with the kit is amazing and easy to use, and makes the stroke look like natural hairs. The wax holds the brows in place all day. Motives Essential Brow Kit contains vitamins C & E, which provide antioxidant protection and hydrate the skin. Dimethicone and beeswax allow for smooth application of the brow wax and powder, ensuring your brows will look picture perfect.
The Motives Brow Perfecting Gel is a tinted brow gel formulated to tame, groom and define brows while delivering natural-looking color and an all-day hold. So this would be great for someone that doesn’t need to fill in their brows too much, but is looking to keep them in place. It is available in 2 colors.
The Motives for La La Mineral Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil is a creamy retractable pencil that helps create naturally sculpted brows. The firm formula glides on smoothly to fill in sparse areas and maintain attractive eyebrows. The spooly brush allows you to tame and fill in sparse areas for full and flawless brows. It’s available in 3 different colors and it’s WATERPROOF! I love using this in the summer.
By using these tips, your eyes will automatically look brighter and bigger! Who doesn’t want that!! Now we hope your brows are saying exactly what you mean.
